Before you start
- A LedgerSync developer account approved for the environment you connect to. Apply at portal.ledgersyncappv2.com. Live access also needs the payment step completed.
- Already a LedgerSync app customer? Do not apply or pay. Email support@ledgersync.com and we link your existing account.
- Only the account owner can connect. If your firm already uses LedgerSync, ask the owner to add the connector rather than applying yourself.
Add the connector
Use the live address for your real clients’ banks:- Claude
- ChatGPT
1
Open Connectors
In Claude, go to Customize > Connectors.
2
Add a custom connector
Click +, then Add custom connector. Paste a connector address above and click Add.
Leave the advanced OAuth settings empty.
3
Sign in
Connect it, sign in to LedgerSync, and allow access.
Keeping your clients’ banks safe
- Nobody types bank passwords into the chat. To connect or fix a bank, the AI gives you a link to a LedgerSync page, and the account holder signs in to their bank there. Connect links expire after 72 hours.
- Statement download links expire after 10 minutes and work once. The link is used up when it is opened, so if the download fails, ask the AI for a new link.
- The connector can only do what the table above lists. It cannot see or change API keys, webhooks or account settings.
- AI apps other than Claude and ChatGPT stay blocked. Ask support@ledgersync.com if you need one.
- To disconnect, remove the connector from the AI app (in Claude, Customize > Connectors, then Remove). Adding it again signs you in fresh.
Refreshes and other limits
LedgerSync already refreshes every working connection about once a day, so most questions need no refresh. When you do ask for one:- It takes a few minutes. The AI starts the refresh and checks on it; ask it to check again if it is still running. See Keeping data fresh.
- A connection that refreshed in the last 30 minutes is skipped unless you say you want a new pull anyway.
- Each connected AI app can start 20 refreshes a day on sandbox and 50 on live. These also count
against your account’s daily refresh budget, which API keys share: 100 on sandbox, 500 on live.
ledgersync_get_account_statusshows how many of your account’s refreshes are left today. - Other limits per connected AI app: 50 new clients a day, 30 connect links an hour, and 120 tool calls a minute on sandbox (60 on live). When a limit is reached, the AI is told when it can try again.
- Long lists of connections, accounts, transactions and statements come back in pages. The AI asks for the next page when it needs more.
When something goes wrong
Every error the connector returns carries acode, the same codes as the API’s (see
Errors). Access errors and rate-limit errors also carry a next_step sentence, which
the AI reads out to you.
